Mark, yes, I am aware of the technology. One of the problems they will face is limitation on switching speeds. For MVIS' applications, that is not a problem but for optical communications and routing that might be a different story. A long time ago, I addressed the same type of problems in Patent #5,036,042 and # 5,087,610, the only problem was these were good only if the wavelength were longer than about 10 to 20 microns, not a practical optical communication range. Hopefully, new materials that are being developed now will make electronic switching easier.
