Loudcloud and Cloudware.... Clouds are used to represent a network in networking diagrams. This network could be public, private, sub-nets, etc. The reason for doing this is that in many cases, the details of the network aren't as interesting as the connections between (router traffic, throughput, etc.). This explains why the company is called Loudcloud. The Cloudware annoucement seems to be trumpeting software writtened specifically for ASP site management. It is my understanding that a lot of ASP-hosting services have pieced together a lot of different systems without an overall systems management framework. That means that as a customer, you have to deal with a the complexity (to some level). Cloudware is a lot of "glue" that ties everything together nicely. Because of this integration, reports about the site have increased granularity. This allows a customer to gain a great deal more visibility about what is happening with their site and make adjustments accordingly. Heeren
