RAD) RxSheets.com to Partner With PCS Health Systems to Jointly Market PerformanceScript Program

OAK BROOK, Ill., Apr 18, 2000 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- RxSheets.com, a wholly owned
subsidiary of MedCare Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ: MCAR) announced today that it
will offer the PCS Health Systems PerformanceScript(R)program on its Web site
(www.RxSheets.com), making it available to thousands of physicians nationwide.
PCS is one of the country's largest pharmacy benefit managers and a wholly owned
subsidiary of Rite Aid Corporation (NYSE, PSE: RAD).

PerformanceScript(R) is an alternative to conventional drug sampling programs
that offer improved health safeguards and better monitoring of patients starting
new drug therapy. The innovative program offers a substantial improvement over
packaged samples that physicians conventionally have distributed to patients.

With PerformanceScript, physicians provide patients with a card and prescription
for the medication available through the PCS program. Patients then redeem the
prescription at a pharmacy for a free trial supply of the medication. Included
with the card is information to help patients understand the medication and the
condition for which the drug has been prescribed.

Physicians who are interested in obtaining a supply of PerformanceScript cards
for various pharmaceutical products may do so by ordering them through
RxSheets.com.

"A physician's prescribed regimen is more likely to be followed when patients
understand their medical condition and the prescribed treatment," said Marsha C.
Moore, M.D., PCS' chief medical officer. "By including the educational component
in our PerformanceScript program, we hope to empower patients to take a greater
role in their own health care."

PerformanceScript also provides an important safeguard for patients, which is
unavailable through traditional sampling methods that bypass the normal checks
and balances conducted by a pharmacist. By requiring the patient to present the
prescription at a pharmacy, the program affords the pharmacist the opportunity
to counsel patients on their conditions and medication at the time patients
first start a new drug regimen. It also allows the pharmacist to determine if
the drug might interact negatively with another drug the patient is currently
taking or if some other potential problem exists. In addition to protecting the
patient, this also can save costs for the patient's health plan.

The program also eliminates the need for physicians, to store, safeguard and
monitor prescription samples. In addition, it saves the physician from having to
waste and discard samples that expire before they are used.

PerformanceScript enhances pharmaceutical companies' current sampling promotions
and also provides access to drugs that do not have traditional sampling
programs. By making PerformanceScript available to physicians on its Web site,
RxSheets.com will offer an alternative way for pharmaceutical companies to
provide a starter supply of medication to patients through their doctors.

"We believe that by partnering with PCS, an innovator in health care management,
we can offer viable solutions and alternatives to the pharmaceutical and
physician community," said Jeff Aronin, President and Chief Executive Officer of
MedCare Technologies.

PCS Health Systems, Inc. (www.pcshs.com)is one of the nation's largest pharmacy

to the widest possible audience of physicians, ultimately increasing their
bottom line. On the flip side, RxSheets.com offers physicians a central location
to sample an unlimited number of product samples, saving time and presenting
them with new products and services to treat patients. In addition to product
samples, RxSheets.com offers a wide array of useful information and other
