The real nastiness in politics began when Pat Robertson began injecting his personal preferences and hatreds into the political scene Why do you assume Robertson hates anyone? You are obviously prejudiced. I am not an Evangelical, but I perceive Robertson as a gentleman who merely seeks his place at the table in public policy discourse. I think the current round of nastiness began with the character assassination of Robert Bork and John Tower, and the attempted Borking of Clarence Thomas. The left is far more ruthless than the right.
