Jim, re: embedded serial number Yes, they are eliminating it, according to the WSJ. "<Intel> now says the technology has been superseded by other mean on ensuring user identities, such as encrypted digital signatures, that enjoy greater acceptance in the marketplace". I never understood the big deal either way. John
