Personal Income for March = +0.7%
Personal consumption = +0.5%

Personal income increased $56.6 billion, or 0.7 percent, and disposable personal income (DPI) increased $49.1 billion, or 0.7 percent, in March, according to the Commerce Department's Bureau of Economic Analysis. Personal consumption expenditures (PCE) increased $34.5 billion, or 0.5 percent.

Chicago Purchasing Managers Index for April = 56.5%
Prices Paid = 69.2%

The Chicago manufacturing industry continues a modest recovery. The April index fell back modestly to 56.5%, which is still solidly above 50. Furthermore, the fallback was concentrated in order backlogs, inventories and employment. The production and new orders index were solid at above 60%.
