MPPP going to be the next penny stock. Courts ruled in favor of the RIAA [the Recording Industry] in what could end up being a multi-billion dollar case against the entire MP3 format. . . which could finally once and for all put a stop to the piracy that is running rampant.

This case could change the tides. . . there needs to be teeth in the law. . .whereby local law enforcement could begin to prosecute violators. . .

MPPP is merely a single website that uses the MP3 format. . it is not "their" format. There are many others. . . which will also come under this lawsuit. . . as the courts rule that the MP3 format is a clear violation of Federal Copyright Law.

Recent software has made it very difficult to trace the source of the piracy. . .however, the recording industry is willing to spend whatever is necessary to root out the sources. . .and prosecute to the fullest.

Its either that or we will lose the right to own any music ourselves. . . meaning, music we buy will be encrypted in such a way so as to not allow copying at all. . . forcing us to pay by the minute only. . but never own the recording. . I know that is hard to understand. . .for more, see my thread on Internet Music.

Anyway. . . this should bode well for companies like LQID, SFO, LDIG, and of course the record companies. . . SNE, VO, etc.
