Yes, only 'some', for sure ... i did make that point, though perhaps not as strong as i should have ... i do believe that americans are an overwhelmingly fair-minded and decent people, to the degree that are most peoples at most times ... but we all have our myopic dictator types as well, and their power to influence events varies from time to time.

I didn't like the 'stormtrooper with gun' photo either, fwiw ... there should have been other ways to secure the boy's release, and it should have been done far sooner imho ... the fact that L zaro was able to paint all concerned into the corner of having to use force was a direct result of the lack of clear law stipulating that, irregardless of national origin, the natural law of our species that parents speak for children should be upheld and enforced quite routinely. It could be called the Paternity Trumps Politics law.
