Well i disagree ... not interesting in joining Left or Right, i won't buy politics in a package until somebody makes a package without components that disgust me, and experience tells me not to hold my breath waiting on that event.

And it's not about preferring one nation over another - i don't think a single poster here doubts that Eli n would have more material goodies and a greater range of personal freedom in the US than he would have in Cuba ... if those were the only two choices left on the planet, i would encourage Juan Miguel to consider the US, no question.

But the point is that it is his decision to make - not yours, not mine, not L zaro's.
Eli n is the son of Juan Miguel, of Juan Miguel only, and by the time-honoured custom of our species custody goes to the father. This comes way before politics or judgment of residence location choices.

I'll bet there are worse fathers right now in the US exercising control over their sons, and further i'll bet you can find among their number individuals who vote the straight Killa Kommie fer Krist ticket.

Not that i'm saying that's a bad thing.
