It's interesting to see a GUCCI thread.
It is one of the few Europen luxury goods maker quoted.
A few months ago it went to 78 before retreating to 62 than again to
72 and now went down again to 66. Its presence and brandmark is strong especially in Japan, pls. consider also that it started to be in the German market only a few months ago. They are focussed strongly in Asia. Bulgari, another luxury goods maker (mainly jewelry), had its IPO in summer 95 and went from 8,000 Lire to 31,000 Lire. Now they are splitting 4:1. GUCCI since its IPO in autumn 95 went from 25 to 65. So in comparison, there could be still room left to increase. I did not hear anything yet about a split here in Italy. Hope it will take place.
