Ron Levy Named President/CEO of SSM Health Care-St. Louis

Ron Levy has been named president/CEO of SSM Health Care-St. Louis and regional president/system vice president of SSM Health Care (SSMHC), effective November 29, 1999. The announcement was made by William C. Schoenhard, FACHE, SSMHC executive vice president/COO. He replaces Stephanie McCutcheon, who has accepted a position as Chief Operating Officer of Bon Secours Health System, Baltimore, MD.

Levy currently serves as president of SSM Health Care St. Louis Physicians' Organization and Provider Affiliations for St. Louis, mid-Missouri and Southern Illinois, a position he has held since January 1997. Before that, Levy served as one of two executive vice presidents for SSM Health Care St. Louis, overseeing network operations and physician integration for SSM St. Mary's Health Center, SSM St. Joseph Hospital of Kirkwood, SSM Rehab and its affiliated physician-hospital organizations, and the SSM Medical Group. He also served as president of SSM St. Mary's Health Center in St. Louis and of St. Clare Hospital and Health Services, an SSMHC hospital located in Baraboo, WI. He holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree and Master's Degree in Health
Services Administration from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

"Ron is a tremendous asset to our organization, with extensive expertise in hospital operations, network management, integration and strong physician relationships," said Schoenhard. "His depth of experience prepares him to play a key role in the future of our system and our ministry in St. Louis."
