Jim, I thought just for interest sake, you might like to see this. I'm long gone OGPS, since before they got the E, but APS technology was what first got me interested. Now it too, is no more.
OMICRON TECHNOLOGIES DROPS APS TECHNOLOGY
The Board of Directors of Omicron Technologies, Inc. (NQB Pink Sheets : OGPS) wishes to announce that it is no longer involved in the development of the technology known as Active Pixel Sensors (APS). The primary reasons for this decision are the tremendous competition by major players in this field, the lack of the necessary consumer marketing infrastructure by the company, as well as the large capital requirements that would have been necessary to bring the product to a market ready stage. Consequently, the option originally obtained from the California Institute of Technology has been allowed to expire and will not be renewed.
The company is currently in discussions with ViaSpace Technologies LLC to have the funds previously advanced to the APS project applied as a credit to one of their other further developed projects.
Omicron Technologies, Inc. is in the business of acquisition, research and development, and marketing of leading edge technologies and Internet-based business concepts. Through a combined strategy of focusing on specific marketing niches and speedy development of its proprietary technologies, Omicron expects to gain significant market penetration in these areas.
