I agree with you Fred. I further find the fact that Cubans can take American Citizenship exams in Spanish to be offensive. I am guessing that public schools there are bilingual too which I again find disturbing. We are a nation of one law and should be a nation of one language. If there are those that can't master it there are plenty of others willing to do it to become citizens. By remaining Spanish only they separate themselves for the mainstream of life in the US. They become a drag to unification of all the people in the US.

It was appalling to me to see the Mayor in Miami kowtow to the Cuban interests by suggesting his police would not participate in rescuing Elian. Ultimately he back tracked a bit with a clarification, but the damage has been done.

From the way I have seen the exiled Cubans behave I hold little belief that they could ever be the vanguard to lead post Castro Cuba to any great effect.
