NYTimes reports outstanding short interest in JDSU as 30.3 million shares on April 14 up from 19.1 million from 1 month earlier. JDSU ranks #4 on largest positions behind Cisco Dell and Oracle.

This is probably due to the arbitrageurs who are shorting JDSU and buying ETEK. When the merger goes through, the short covering will undoubtedly spur a rally.
