BBG: Re: Dell's action on Friday...The Goldman Sachs Computer Hardware Index ($GHA: news, msgs) ended down 1.1 percent, led by losses in shares of Dell Computer (DELL: news, msgs), down 1 5/8 to 50 1/8, and Compaq Computer (CPQ: news, msgs), down 13/16 to 29 3/16.

"These are really value dips; these are speculative investors coming in looking to buy stocks only because they look cheaper," said Scotty George, chief market strategist at Corinthian Partners.

George added that investor perspective "is not wide enough to look at broader fundamentals, and they're just buying stocks because they're cheaper."
