As long as total anonymity is allowed, any single membership can represent any number of people or organizations. Just takes one credit card and a Web E-mail address somewhere and bingo, you're on SI.

If a member won't disclose a true identity, how could you ever know who or what they really represent? Seems academic to me.

You could pass the "rrufff" login around to a dozen friends and they could all post with it from anywhere in the world. You wouldn't do that with a real name because you could be held liable for what they say.

No responsibility, no accountability.
