Robert, Many have been waiting to see what SUNW has done. We should see it at this late June conference......

In late May EMC gets to give the keynote(at a storage conference), like they should, however by the end of June at this storage conference things change

NETWORK STORAGE 2000

:30 pm KEYNOTE PRESENTATION: Janpieter Scheerder, President, Network Storage, Sun Microsystems

SESSION 1: "NEW PARAMETERS, NEW STORAGE DIRECTIONS"

WHat will SUNW say at this keynote, don't think they will talk about the old stuff!

Topic Not yet Available
Randy Rettberg, CTO and Distinguished Engineer, Network Storage, Sun Microsystems

30- 5:30 PANEL DISCUSSION
Co- Moderator: Chris Wood, Director SAN Strategy, Sun Microsystems

Ensuring Information Continuance
George Symons, Vice President, Product Management, Legato Systems, Inc.
Partner:

This presentation will use the example of a 3 tier e-business computing environment to discuss the different technologies and capabilities necessary for meeting service level commitments in an environment demanding very high levels of data availability. The focus will be on:
ú Data protection technologies
ú High availability capabilities
ú Data replication strategies

Co- Moderator: Chris Wood, Director SAN Strategy, Sun Microsystems

Conclusion-SUNW won't talk in May, but by the end of June whatever they have spent all this time on-they will unveil and fight for the storage limelight with EMC.....Have tracked storage conferences for some time. Never seen SUNW as visible as this....fits wil the SUNW conference call and sets some kind of timeframe. It's hard to wait for this, so at least we know not to expect it this month.
