BTW, I think we're going to see Dell Linux, Compaq Linux, IBM Linux and so forth. We may even see Microsoft Linux. Everybody and their dog and their dog's fleas are going to be stamping out this free OS with their own name on it. The Linux kernel team will grow and the scope of the standard OS will grow, just like java. We have java.* and javax.* and it will be the same with Linux services and APIs: core plus extensions but all standardized.
