To All: Warren Buffet offers his 2 cents on the break up "idea":

The man who has befriended Microsoft (MSFT:Nasdaq) Chairman Bill Gates, but assiduously avoided buying technology stocks for Berkshire, had few good words for the government proposal to break the software giant in two. "[Software] development will be more and more important -- it will be fueling the development in most of the world," Buffett said. With Microsoft, "I think we have something working very well that doesn't make a lot of sense to tinker with very much. I wouldn't want to go in with a meat axe to something that is pulling this country along in a huge way. I don't think you want to tinker with success."
