I'm curious X2,
I'm getting confused on where all these opinions are going- there are so many directions and threads.
I think there is no question that there were some really WEIRD thing happening all around this situation, that between the government and the Cuban community, we haven't gotten very accurate reports on anything. I do think we've been manipulated by a master (Castro) and that Clinton is working off his own agenda for a legacy. I think the actual legal points are debatable.
If Elian were to have his "day in court", represented by an impartial guardian ad litem, and the verdict were rendered that he should be returned to his father, would that be acceptable? Or do you believe that no matter what, no matter how the rule of law plays out, that particular outcome is unacceptable? That Elian's staying here supercedes all other factors or laws or rulings or parental desires?
