Philosophical thought has progressed a bit since then, and scientific knowledge (which
has increased exponentially) has had a tremendous influence on philosophy. Would this be philosophy that you said was dead?

You said that. I took it to mean that you think philosophy has been makeing progess. I never said anything about progress. I said it was stimulating discussion. I'm not sure progress applies in Philosophy, as it would simply be an arbitrary value judgment to say that. I find some of the ancient Greeks to be the most compelling philosophers personally- but I would never say philosophy died in ancient Greece just because I happen to have an affinity for their philosophy. And
if philosophy progresses, it is assumed that social, etc. systems improve as well. Will you
conced that point? Yes, then let's move on.Since I don't see philosophy linearly in terms of progress I can't possibly concede this point.

re: philosophy is alive and well because many important scientific and political decisions
require philosophical examination.

And that is progress? Not. Moore's law was recently stated to be obsolete when it
comes to optical networking advancements (last week). That is progress. Compared to
this type of progress, philosophy is dead. A strange assessment and I don't agree with you. .

re: where is the justification for the madness. madness is constitution is under attack
which is the destruction of this country. I asked you to specify what EXACTLY is under attack. I'd like concrete examples.

re: Darwin. You aren't playing dumb, are you? Stalinism, Naziism, all of the great evils of
this century justify themselves via Darwin. If you honestly didn't know that, then I will
stop this discussion and cede all points to you. I honestly will not be responsible for the
education of rita the unknown. They did NOT justify themselves via Darwin. The Nazis were influenced by Darwin with their ideas of supremacy- but people have believed themselves supreme way before Darwin gave an excuse for it. And look at you- you believe you have the supremely correct answer for other people and you are angry at Darwin. is Darwin somehow making you feel superior to the Cubans? Because you DO feel superior. You are so sure you are right you are willing to force people who want to live in Cuba to live here, in "freedom". Did Darwin do this to you?

re: baffling with bs.

I may not be instantly converting you to my way of thinking. But that is only because you
are so resistant. You are not converting me because you are totally unconvincing. But look- you have managed to turn it around on ME. Let's blame Darwin- it's HIS fault I don't believe you. Him and Castro. If it weren't for Darwin and Castro I'd be convinced like that <snap>, NOT. You blast me with a statement that I am wrong, and you have no reason
or material to defend your statement with. The only material you have presented to
defend your attack is what I posted. And you tortured it beyond recognition. It is a social
comment that the article had Frankenstein in it's title. Yes, we have to bring out the
philosophers to prevent the evil Dr. Frankenstein from creating his next monster. Ironic
to me. It takes a frankenstein to resurrect the philosophers. haha. We bring out the philosophers to discuss evil, and the nature of evil, and whether evil exists- only the population as a WHOLE can prevent evil. You are totally confused as to the reason for philosophy. It isn't there just to reinforce your prejudices- it is there to help you question everything (imo). I don't think you've questioned much. You have the freedom to do that if you live in the US- you might want to exercise that freedom.
