Again, chalu, I appreciate the clear and cogent answer. I'm not doubting what you say in the slightest; I just didn't know that. I didn't know that the INS had powers above those of other LE agencies, and that they could invade private homes without court orders. Just guessing on my part, but is the logic of that similar to cops "in hot pursuit" being able to do similar things? jim
