TTOSBT,re:"OS...breakup". It's difficult to have someone
bigger ("THE LAW") to forcifully break you up.

Shouldn't MSFT do it themselve to begin with.

Afterall, WS like 'split's.

Maybe the synergy is lost for awhile. Extra layer of
business entities will increase the individual cost (the
public will pay).

The whole assumption of the 'parts of MSFT' cannot
survive on its own is very interesting and difficult to
believe.

Afterall, there's been a long lead time for MSFT to learn,
try, acquire, develop knowledge and the organization.

I would doubt that MSFT's software are junk. DOJ is right
it will create more competition. Unfortunately its not
the competition DOJ/Gov thinks => '2 monopolies'

So breaking it into 2 as proposed is not the 'solution'
or remedy to the problem DOJ 'think' is the problem.
So I don't know what DOJ is trying to achieve.

It's kind of like 'communist country' gave the land back
to the farmers who were 'hurt' by the landlords for
a number of reasons, one of which is:

Your ancestor, parents worked too hard and saved all these
assets for you and is hurting other people becasue you
now have too much land.

I'm sure the latest landlord is at fault in using its
monopolistic power (MONEY,LAND,KNOWLEDGE) to do better.
So government stepped in and just took it and gave it away
to the village people.

Well, all I can say, everything in life has 'cycle' and
it is nature and cannot be prevented.

MSFT/Bill is too big, too ....... and never mind what all
the reasonings, right/wrong, lawful/unlawful .. blah..
blah..

The fun part is there will be 2 more cases for DOJ.

Actually, as someone suggested on AMZN thread, anyone
who has 'leverage power' is in line for harasement.
Hopefully, next guys play it better than MSFT/Bill.
Dont' fight the FED/DOJ.

It's against American's gene not to live free. But
better learn soon or later, like Bill Gate.
