Welcome back, IS. In a year like this one, I don't think you want a return based on the market averages when there are still funds out there doing much, much better. The top tech funds are up 35-40% and the best funds overall (a lot of biotech plays) are up more than that.

I don't use funds myself, but the glamour days of index tracking seem to be over.
