I think they inadvertently left a few questions off of that list: Does a smoke alarm going off while you're cooking breakfast send you go into a rage? Does watching re-runs of The Mod Squad, or a movie such as Saturday Night Fever, induce a state of melancholia that lasts for a week or more? Does the sound of a woman wearing very sharp stiletto heels that click ominously as she rapidly approaches across a polished granite floor make you feel just a little fearful? Do you quickly begin to experience feelings of misgiving and/or apprehension while being examined by a physician who excitedly comments, "Wow, I've never seen ANYTHING like THIS before!" Do you toss your tools down on the workbench and flee from the workshop when subjected to the repetitive squeaking of a defective furnace humidifier? Do you consider evil possibilities when your neighbour's kid decides that a good place to practice playing his trumpet for the school band is in the trees right next to your garden? Does finding a big red puddle of power-steering fluid spreading out across the laneway under your truck wreck the rest of your day? Would three telemarketer phone calls and 2 wrong numbers in less than an hour disturb your creativity and ability to stay motivated when working on a project? Does having a long, carefully edited post on S.I. suddenly evaporate into thin air when you press the "SUBMIT" make you momentarily consider giving away your computer and joining a monastery? Does finding a 3 inch long hornworm in a can of tomatoes seem to foreshadow an impending period of bad karma? H.S. Croc
