I understand that game, however EMC is moved by institutional money, not Mom & Pop 100 share buys. This isn't a controlled-float dotcom that #daytraders can push around on the cheap, so stock split hype has limited effect.

EMC will split when it makes sense to do so. Until then simply enjoy the superior performance. This is a core holding, not some "pump and dump" stock.

BTW, EMC's new commercials being shown on CNBC are doing a lot more for the stock than split talk. The word is getting out about the storage-centric shift. I note that the SUNW thread still seems to be in complete denial which is perhaps to be expected. Nobody believes eras are ending and that sunsets are in progress until long after its too late, but the processor-centric view of IT is headed for the museums far faster than its proponents imagine.
