According to Nakamura, the technology at the core of their 'Reactor X' is closely guarded at Nichia, and hasn't been disclosed, not even in patents. Big time trade secrets! Meanwhile, at Nakamura's insistence, they've obtained broad patent coverage on the devices. Altogether not a bad strategy: make 'em however you want, but to beat us you'll have to make something else. WT
