Hi advalorem - re: stock buyback

Message 13529170

I do not know. I ve noticed that there were actually some insider selling instead. This is part of the exec compensations these days though, so I am not overly concerned about it.

I think that CDO may not jump in buying back her stock too soon if the market continues to be iffy. Being idealistic, stock buy back is a tax free dividend for long term investors, so even that should be done judiciously, i.e., why bother to support a stock if the market force is going to eat up the cash anyway. Instead, if I were CDO mgt, I would buy big at the bottom. That will 1) give most bang for the buck; 2) help form a bottom [even though it is definitely not a function of the co] and 3) burn the shortsellers in the process.

Also, from the big picture perspective, I do not know how the Venture ipo and PRISM possible spinoff may affect the stock repurchasing.

Right now, I really do not know for sure why CDO has not participated in the rebound. As I ve indicated previously, I ve been accumulating at a higher level, so it is not a comfy feeling. However, I still feel CDO is not getting the recognition she deserves, so I will hang in there --- waiting to be vindicated <g>!

best, Bosco
