I have been looking at WIND for some time now and have been speaking to friends who work in RT environments. There is this discussion I remember having with a firmware engineer. He said that while you could make a case out for industry moving to WIND as opposed to a propietary solution, it isnt clear that WinCE can be totally counted out. For instance, it seems that the company he's working for currently has elected to move to WinCE for some of their systems because of inherent DCOM support that they require for synchronization with backend systems. A classic case of an established gorilla leveraging its way into new markets.

Something for the wise people in this thread to comment on, perhaps?

Thanks
Anand
