just found your thread and like its tones - i think... i am always posting off-topic and get to feeling as shunned as the amish farmer who exposed himself, or something like that.
the eci no. blew me away and i went all cash, missed the runup on thurs, sat fri out as i refused to chase it. had done well the prior 2 weeks trading in and out of big names, sunw, txn, other techs. made a fortune in bios in jan/feb and sat frozen on that fortune until about 10 april when i sold it all; lost 60% of my ytd profits. (wife thinks that 200k was real money - imagine that!) anyway, have been slowly learning ta and while i don't trade strictly by the charts i certainly try to use them to advantage. they got me out of aria at 35, ngen in the 90s, gene in the 60s, and some of my gztc (fell in love, ahhhh~!) in the hi 40s. maybe those were no-brainers, as far as bailing went, but it was the charts that convinced me. i was selling when the obv and rsi topped and the macd, don't recall what parameters i have set in, went thru the roof, too. usually sold early, but what the hell. certainly want to learn more ta. have some decent books and am considering getting metastock and hooking into quotecom for eod downloads. any thots highly appreciated.
