As a subscriber to the GTR since it's inception, and a prolific poster on the Gilder Forum, I'd just like to clear a few points up regarding AVNX.
Not only had I read all the SEC filings, but I had posted this information on the Gilder Forum the night before AVNX was added as a new telecosm pick. Not just on one forum, but on two. Now, part of my information came directly from George in the February 2000 Gilder Technology Report. He stated very clearly about the unusual lockup period. He also mentioned this fact several times while visiting the forum and posting. I happen to be online at those times. Any subscribers not knowing this fact have no one to blame but themselves. I'm sorry, but if you are blindly placing "wagers" on these stocks without doing the real work, you deserve what you get.
I have never bought a Gilder pick on the day it was added. It takes me much longer to do all the investigation before making a decision. Perhaps this has been part of the reason I have out performed the GTR stocks in the last two years. But, even if I hadn't, it would still be my responsibility.
This is my money, my decision. That is why I was drawn to this report in the first place. I don't need hand holding, if I did, I'd pay for it. These unsubstantiated rumors and innuendos should cease. What I do know, he has answered all questions put to him concerning these matters. To my knowledge, his record is untarnished. Can the others with a vested interest in smearing him say the same?
I have no position in AVNX. I probably won't invest until after the lockup expires. All this has made me realize how lucky I am not to be famous or infamous. They love you up to a point, then they can't wait to see you fall. (or wait to hasten your fall) Please be kind, as this is my first SI post. JMO
