Anybody still wondering why O'Reilly "retired"?

I don't know that it was management's general incompetence, as you suggest, that prompted his departure. I thought he left because they were returning to the aggressive revenue model where you dump product into the channel and record it all as revenue, before it's even sold. I guess they wanted to dump Corel Linux (actually another Debian hack) but apparently revenues still fell way short. Who knows what's really going on there, I just remember the revenue model speculation.
