I agree about the solvent smells, but I have used strong solvents to strip wood in the past. I wear heavy black gloves specially made for strong solvents, and double them up, and still get tingling and numbness in my hands.
I refuse to allow insecticides and pesticides in the house. When I was a kid, my dad used to go from room to room at night, spraying mosquito killer everywhere, even in our bedrooms, late at night, because mosquitos buzzing drove him nuts. We kill bugs the old fashioned way, one at a time.
At the office, one of the secretaries is very fastidious, so we have to use spray in the bathroom if we do something smelly, but it's relatively ok, smells like cinnamon.
I find these things unpleasant, but not as overwhelming as loud noises. I clap my hands over my ears when a vehicle goes by with a siren going. One hand if I am driving. |
