Re: When did we break this monopoly?

Hi Jim,

When oil prices went from $40+ dollars a barrel in the 70's to $10+ a barrel in the 80's - which was after production started coming in from the North Sea fields, the North Slope of Alaska, and increased production from those companies and countries that didn't join OPEC.

If Exxon, Royal Dutch Shell, etc had been permitted to join OPEC, what do you think a barrel of oil would be going for now? If they hadn't been blocked from joining by law do you think they wouldn't have?

Regards,

Dan
