Digital Microwave Awards $4.5 Million Order to Signal Technology

DANVERS, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 1, 2000--

Signal Wireless Group's state-of-the-art transceivers to be used in

Digital Microwave's newest digital radio product line

Signal Technology Corporation (NASDAQ: STCO) today announced that its Signal Wireless Group has won a $4.5 million production order from Digital Microwave Corporation. Signal Wireless Group will provide Digital Microwave with high-frequency millimeter wave transceivers.

Signal Technology's millimeter wave transceivers will be incorporated into Digital Microwave's XP4 Digital Radio product line. The XP4 series radio, which provides data rates up to DS3 (45 Mbps) and delivers low-cost transport solutions for fixed wireless access, mobile and private networks.

Dr. James DiLorenzo, president of Signal Technology and the Signal Wireless Group, added, "This order extends and expands our relationship with Digital Microwave, and it further demonstrates the value and potential of our transceiver product line. We see enormous opportunity for our millimeter wave and microwave transceivers in fixed wireless access, cellular/PCS and point-to-multipoint backhaul wireless applications."
