<ATT cannot market its way out of a physics-constrained box>
They may do OK for a while. Now that their president has abandoned millions in stock options to take an exciting job as president of Terabeam, they are, I heard, being lead by an attorney. We all know that a good lawyer can be masterful with smoke and mirrors (all the bad things people say aboyt attorneys are just wrong). This new president may very well supprise you with how much marketing and tha AT&T name can do to make the best of a bad situation----their inferior TDMA system is not that old and can't just be ripped out before being depreciated over its useful life. The accountancs and NY financial analyst would go crazy.

The risk is that if 3G really takes off, AWE will be so hopelessly behind that it can never catch up. But perhaps by that time Armstrong will be retired and he can just let the next guy bite that bullet.
