| Industri-Matematik Appoints Rowan Howatt as new Asia Pacific Vice President
MT. LAUREL, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 1, 2000--Industri-Matematik International Corp. (NASDAQ:IMIC), a global leader in advanced supply chain applications, today announced the appointment of Rowan Howatt as vice president for the Asia Pacific region with responsibility for sales, services and local operations throughout the region.

As the new regional vice president, based in Melbourne, Australia, Mr. Howatt brings to Industri-Matematik more than 16 years of sales and marketing management experience. He succeeds Hans Gutenmark who established Industri-Matematik in the region four years ago. Mr. Gutenmark is returning to Sweden.

Mr. Howatt's appointment reflects a change in direction for the company, which up until recently had operated in Australia as a services office only. Starting in May, Industri-Matematik Australia will be a fully functioning sales, marketing and support office for the Asia Pacific region. Mr. Howatt will focus on the development of Industri-Matematik's Australian sales and service infrastructure, as well as oversee third party relationships and operations for the Asia Pacific region.

"Industri-Matematik's products are changing the way global companies engage with their customers and there is no doubt that fulfillment and customer service will be the defining success factors in the new economy, particularly in the e-tailing sector," Mr. Howatt said.

As part of Industri-Matematik's Asia Pacific strategy, it has formed a regional alliance with IBM, where IBM will combine Industri-Matematik's software with its Application Framework for e-Business to provide end-to-end supply chain management solutions for e-business. This strategy includes integrating e-commerce sites with advanced global fulfillment systems.

Globally, Industri-Matematik has a long-standing strategic relationship with IBM. The companies have pioneered Internet-based order execution processes that help manufacturers, distributors and retailers carry out high volume transactions rapidly and reliably. Additionally, last September, IBM selected Industri-Matematik as one of three suppliers to provide best of class solutions for their Global Supply Chain Management initiative.

Before joining Industri-Matematik, Mr. Howatt was a senior executive with Ericsson Australia, initially as general manager - southern region for Ericsson's enterprise solutions division and later as general manager responsible for Ericsson's CRM offering in the region. Prior to Ericsson, Mr. Howatt spent a number of years with IBM and helped establish a leadership role for IBM in the call center industry as national sales and marketing manager - call center solutions and later as Asia Pacific sales manager for IBM's software division.

Mr. Howatt said after long experience gained in management positions covering hardware, software and services environments, he was looking forward to the overall management of an organization at the cutting edge of new Internet technology.

In Australia, Industri-Matematik has enjoyed a long association with Carlton United Breweries and Kellogg's. Across the Tasman, The New Zealand Dairy Board is also a major customer.
