The Internet is THE KEY to all this.

It has been said that it is the great equalizer. A channel of communication where ideas begin to be heard and exchange.

Take your tocayo, el comandante, it is fair to say that his early communiques via the Internet, may have saved him and his followers from certain crushing action by the Mexcan Army following the taking of those small towns in Chiapas (San Cristobal de las Casas ?).

On more positive ground, The Internet could be a tool to unify the Latin Americans, not with the objective to "oppose" the gringos, but on the contrary to bring the two groups together. I think that in a few more years the US itself will have a large percentage of Latinos in their mix, so increasing ties with Lat Am is certain, the Internet will only speed the process.

Commerce, culture, ideology, tolerance, consensus for the future. Yes, what the free market will decide !

Better than:

"I 'll embargo your arse so you either think my way or starve"

... it is useful to know what the looney-tunes are up to, ¨verdad?

Of course, but take them out of the decision making process! --better yet, put them in a zoo so we can study at last the lost missing link of evolution *g*
