Since this is way off topic and the weekend is over, maybe we better let this go, but...
You can't have it all. A complete free market, no subsidies and a decent food production in every part of Europe. Some choices have to be made. For our politicians it's walking on thin ice, certainly because the differences between separate countries in Europe are incredible. If I go on holiday to the southern countries and see how the farmers there are working and compare it to our farmers, it's a culture shock. This is probably not a problem you can solve with a few simple tricks. But letting it all over on the free market will be a masacre and will have extreme political concequences and maybe mean the end of the EEC.
