I've said this often enough to antagonize some people on this list, but this sort of comparison is only compelling if you think that the companies are identical otherwise. Would you make that same comparison using SEBL or MSFT or CSCO? My question is hyperbolic, but I think that you have to recognize that ORCL is at least trying to position itself as something other than an RDBMS company.
