It's not only not ethical, but it's not legal. Any profits made on such a basis would be forcibly returned by legal action either by holders or the SEC.

I just love these conspiracy theories. The stock was highly overvalued based only on association with Iomega. Now that much better semi companies are priced to sell, IMP is even more overvalued relatively.

The fact that IMP's stock became part of a group promoted by a mass of speculators is going to hurt it much more now that those speculators will be getting margin calls because IOMG, AMER, PRST.... are collapsing.

IMP executives behaved as well as they could, considering; they're doing what they can to prevent the wild speculation in the company's stock from damaging the company itself.
