Smartpts,
I think it would be hard to build up someone with as checkered past as Anthony seems to have had. Have you read any of George Gilder's books? I guess I'm not up to date on AP's literary works, but I am on several Gilder tomes. I also have been a subscriber for many years. I find your attacks specious at best.
I guess what "Forbes" does in marketing Gilder might be ripe for contention, but I would love for you to give me ONE example of anything that was misrepresented by him. Remember when you do, I can quote most reports forward and backward. He states FLAT OUT it isn't a timing newsletter. What part of that disclaimer do you not understand?
When dealing with my hard earned cash, no one is more careful than me. And yes, most of us in some way have an agenda, but mine is to not allow the indiscriminate libelling of a man's reputation.
As to his degree, get serious, if this is what you are basing your argument on, then you don't know much about the man. This really speaks more to your own failings than to his.
It wouldn't be hard for anyone to have more calls right than Gilder, since he doesn't make those types of calls. I have a better record than most of the people on the forum, so what? Should I start a newsletter?
The people that defend this man do so because they believe in his integrity. How many people could say that about anyone in this business? Believe him or not, but please move on, this subject is moot.
