Hi all.

Sorry no posts from here. I think the reason is that there has not been a minute to do so. The group here has been talking to everyone in sight, then usually off to dinner for more talk. In my case, I have not posted because I have understood so little of the talk. I can say this, though, and that is that other patrons were overheard to remark on the huge number of IQ points that could be seen zipping about the heads of the people seated at our table (none of those points mine).

I wrote for 45 minutes last nite, only to have my connection go dead, lost it all.

All I can say is that Bob Smith has it best in a recent post. The fundamentals are in better shape than ever. But the market wanted GTE to name AMTX or WSTL and pin down some rollout date. We know from Pat's earlier talks with GTE that they were determined not to do that. Those looking for specifics are selling. The speaker's constant reference to "open to other vendors" was his catch phrase and invoked only to respond to questions trying to pin him down. I read nothing beyond the ordinary into it.

Two things from the press conference: Note GTE's distinct happiness with the minimal need for line-conditioning , and the fact that (contrary to a rumour here) there was NO mention by GTE connecting Cisco with Aware at that meeting.

I'll post this now if I'm not cut off. Wish I had more. Hope nobody bought more at 15, like I did.
