David, there was a caller from Merrill Lynch on the Inprise CC. I just listened to it tonight and if real money weren't at stake, I would find it funny. Of course, you never know whether you are talking to a buy or sell-side analyst (unless they say so) and the ML analyst was noticeably irritated. His last question was something like: What are you getting from Corel that you can't do on your own? Dale's answer was a BS line that it is all about the internet.

Another analyst that identified himself as a buy side (and also mentioned they held half a million shares) was looking for some sort of explanation to why they are selling the company for so little. He described Borland/Inprise as the diamond and Corel as the setting. Again, a non-answer from management.

The best comment was one analyst who wished them luck in getting out of the management nightmare they put themselves in. That just about sums it up. Dale is going to have to start laying golden eggs to make up for this merger boondoggle. He talks a great deal about his commitment to shareholder value. Its unfortunate he made this merger agreement which states otherwise.
