I take John's point, but I believe that E*Trade and the other OLBs are not, and should not, be designed to be good at answering phones. I have learned to live with E*Trade in the same way that I did with the Army and, much more recently, with Kaiser, my HMO. My experience is that execution is very good, but that reporting can be appalling, so I don't plan on changing my mind. On really big mornings I will also get in my trades way ahead of the bell.
