Well, yes of course it is. The level of investment, technical capability, short product cycle and expensive past lessons make it nearly impossible that a new vendor will enter the field and try to grab market share from the existing companies. Also, there is very little new investment being made by the current DD makers. This means that as unit demand goes up (and it will, even in the supposedly slow summer months) it will result in increased utilization and margins. And that will likely continue for a couple more quarters before capacity expansions start the destructive part of the cycle, again.

One thing to watch now is the DD company that Finis Conner is supposed to be starting. I've been hearing about it for 2 years now. Is it going to production soon ? That should give an indication of how much ease or difficulty there is in entering the DD business. I simply don't understand what advantage he might have. Do you know anything about it ? Does it have a name, yet ? is it a public or private enterprise ?

In my opinion it is different this time.
