Oh good- it's nice to know such champions of liberty are against the commies. You wouldn't know a totalitarian threat if it hit you in the nose. It is precisely groups that no one likes that are first targets of oppression.

Of course we could forget all about it and let it happen again- yeah-- that's a GOOD idea. All these people here gnashing their teeth and wailing about the Elian matter- where there were actually laws broken. In the house committee on Un American activities there weren't any custody issues at stake, or laws. It was almost always a matter of belief- and people who refused to RAT on other people (not because they were communists but because they didn't believe in ratting) had their lives ruined.

The Civil War happened over 100 years ago- based on your logic we should all "just forget about it" since I guess things in the past have no relevance today?
