Internet/IT Executive Named Chief Information Officer of USA Video Interactive
To Head Expansion of Internet Operations
MAY 2, 2000 - MYSTIC, CONNECTICUT - Kent Norton has been named Chief Information Officer of USA Video Interactive (OTCBB: USVOE; CDNX: US; www.usvo.com). In this position, he will work closely with Chief Operating Officer William Meyer, Chief Technical Officer Ronald Patton and the technical team to expand the company's Internet activities, including providing streaming video and video on demand and designing a secure data network for USA Video Interactive's worldwide deployments.
Currently, Norton is Director of Technology and Information Systems with beenz.com (www.beenz.com), which is creating a universal, incentive-based currency for on-line merchants. Previous to beenz.com, Norton was Senior Manager for Computer Sciences Corporation where he designed a global technical support infrastructure for the company's "help desks" around the world and was nominated for a company-wide Technical Excellence Award for this system. He also has 10 years experience in senior technology positions with Sonalysts and General Dynamics.
Norton has in-depth knowledge and experience in multiple UNIX environments, including Linux; all aspects of data networking including LANs, WANs, security and administration; software development, integration and design including open-source software development, integration and design; global IT infrastructures and business requirements; and commercial design, development and deployment of Internet and business-focused e-systems and products. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil & Structural Engineering from the University of Cincinnati.
