The wireless telecom industry is growing rapidly-carriers and equipment vendors are making large capital investments to expand their networks and deploy new systems.
To meet growing subscriber demand for enhanced voice and mobile data applications, wireless carriers are building high-speed broadband wireless data networks to extend the reach of existing fiber optic networks in business settings.
In response to these demands, a carrier needs to assemble all the resources required to plan, develop and deploy wireless networks-and maintain experts in the industry and a staff of engineers and technicians to manage such complex wireless communications systems. Most carriers have limited resources and to benefit from the phenomenal growth of wireless communications and its convergence with the Internet, they must use their resources wisely and outsource enhanced services to the extent it helps them to preserve capital for future expansion and enhancements.
Not only are carriers and vendors called on to deliver quality wireless networks, they are faced with migrating to advanced technologies where the risks can be high in the absence of careful planning. For example, the rate of increase in the LMDS market alone-which supports wireless broadband system deployment-is expected to grow faster than the incredible pace of the growth of Internet users. In addition, advanced technologies such as HFC, xDSL, MMDS, fiber and optical laser are rapidly entering the market. The integration of wireless, wireline and cable services is another key issue in the development of telecom networks today.
By incorporating WAP into I-Link's network and services, coupled with the availability of GateLink APIs, I-Link makes it is possible for wireless carriers and ASPs to integrate with wireline and cable services-via I-Link's Integrated Access IP Network. And develop products and services for the WAP based markets on the I-Link's IP Network. Wireless carriers and ASPs can now develop and deploy applications on I-Link's IP Network, faster and without having to spend millions of dollars in infrastructure cost.
The whole world wants to be connected and be able to compute and communicate, for business and pleasure, but also desires mobility with freedom of space and time. A combination of WAP enabled devices, integrated voice recognition, secure integrated access network and consumer services using WAP will full-fill this dream and set us free. I-Link is the first company to open-up the wireline based communications network to the wireless carriers and provides access to every thing that will be connected to this network today and in the future.
Overall, this is very good news and shows I-Link is embracing the Internet and the Wireless model. Both Internet and Wireless are two exploding markets and I-Link is stepping forward into the future by staying current with the evolving technology growth markets.
Stay tuned there is more to come.

ILNK: 1st Qtr Earnings Surprise should be out on or about May 15, 2000. by: Glotech (49/M) 4/27/00 12:05 pm Msg: 27359 of 27702
I have modified the projections model to include the impact of Big Planet MLM channel working with net 27% commission [wholesale revenue to BP recorded at 100% minus 40% plus 13% = 73%].
The technology licensing and development revenue from existing contracts will be realized in the 1st Qtr, and the projection model reflects that. Also, the accelrated revenue growth from sales of INDAVO is included in the 1st Qtr numbers.
My EPS Projections model shows the following numbers for the 1st Qtr, 2000:
Number of Active IRs: 3,700 Average Customer per IR: 17 Number of Customers: 62,900 Average Bill per Customer: $39 Telecom Services Revenue: $9,729,539? includes revenues from INDAVO, IAN usage, ICW and ASP services, etc. Marketing Services Revenue: $419,333 Technology Licensing Revenue: $2,506,701 TOTAL REVENUE: $12,655,573
Operating Margins on Telecom Services: 50%
Telecom Network Expenses: $5,426,525???? includes the network deployment expenses and other related costs. Marketing Services Costs/Expenses: $418,019? to February 15, 2000. TOTAL OPERATING COSTS: $5,844,544
Selling, General & Administration: $3,589,290 Reserve for Doubtful Accounts: $609,018 Depreciation & Amortization: $1,159,783 Acquired Technology &IT Services Cost: $100,000 Research & Development: $807,518 TOTAL OPERATING EXPENSES: $6,265,609
TOTAL OPERATING COSTS & EXPENSES: $12,110,152
OPERATING PROFIT (LOSS): $545,421???. does not include interest or dividends expenses. Number of Common Shares: 26,727,108 EPS for 1st Qtr. 2000: $0.02 ? approximately
There are a few revenue items that I have not factored into the projections. If you take those into consideration, we may even do better than this $0.02 in the 1st Qtr.
It will surprise lot of people.
