Ah, but you're forgetting the main reason for the tracking stock issuance. It provides more insider shares to give AT&T execs, and provided the biggest underwriting fees in history to goldman sachs and the other participating bankers!

Tracking stocks are meant to do one thing- Monetize Shareholder Ignorance!
